Organized by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the event brought together European Commission representatives, policymakers, researchers, and industry experts to discuss the future of security research in Europe. The discussions focused on synergies between European and national security research programs, the role of dual-use research, and upcoming priorities in the 10th EU Research Framework Programme.

SYNERGISE’s Contribution

  • Tiina Ristmäe spoke in Panel 2: “Between Desire and Reality: Synergies Between the European and National Security Research Programs”, highlighting how security research initiatives can align across different funding levels to maximize impact.

  • Sabina Ziemian (Chyla) from ASTRIAL GmbH presented the SYNERGISE project during the poster session, engaging in discussions on EU research funding, innovation strategies, and how SYNERGISE contributes to advancing civil security.

This symposium provided a key platform for discussing the future of security research collaboration in Europe, and SYNERGISE was at the center of these exchanges.
